Gift Aid

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a scheme which enables charities such as the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum to reclaim 25p in every £1 of your subscription fee from the Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, if you are a UK taxpayer.

Please note that it is not possible to Gift Aid memberships bought for someone other than yourself. This includes those bought as gifts.

How it helps the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum

Gift Aid on membership and gifts gives us over £150,000 a year to put back into the arboretum at no extra expense to you, so we do ask if you are able to sign or tick the box online - please do!

The declaration

In order for us to reclaim the Gift Aid on your membership fee or gift, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs ask you to make the following declaration:

I would like the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum to treat this donation and any donations I make in the future as Gift Aid donations, unless I notify otherwise. I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay the difference.
