Volunteering

Volunteers are an integral part of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum

Volunteers started the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum (FOWA) in 1985. 25 years later, the charity continues to be led by a volunteer board of trustees and now manages over 250 volunteers involved across the site.

Westonbirt thrives on the volunteers’ enthusiastic support and commitment. Volunteers enhance visitor engagement and enjoyment and provide much needed additional resources to staff. They undertake a range of activities, from practical woodland management to providing information to visitors and helping to deliver educational events.

Westonbirt aims to expand the opportunities for volunteers considerably with the development of the Westonbirt Project. Find out more about the future of volunteering at Westonbirt Arboretum.
