The future of volunteering at Westonbirt

Volunteering has flourished at Westonbirt, the National Arboretum. So much so that Westonbirt often has to turn away new volunteering enquiries because the resources to support, plan and manage the work simply aren’t available to match the demand.
Increasing our resources is vital to the growth of volunteering here. This will be possible with new funding and opportunities available as part of the Westonbirt Project.
With the extra funding we will be able to involve more volunteers in the traditional areas of practical assistance, information delivery and education support.

Engaging new audiences
Volunteers will also be key to the delivery of new activities planned as part of the Westonbirt Project. With their help we will be able to offer inspirational activities to a broader spectrum of people, including social and community groups and corporate organisations who’s members want to learn new skills and help make a difference.
With the help of our existing volunteers we have started to trial some of these new activities. Find out more about these below
