Get involved

View of Westonbirt School from the ArboretumThrough interpretation, training and volunteering we’ll offer everyone the chance to get involved and learn new skills. Current volunteering opportunities.

Our dedicated volunteers are an invaluable part of Westonbirt and we’ll be offering further training and attracting new volunteers through activities such as:

  • Archive research into our great heritage
  • Gardening and garden restoration
  • Drystone wall, ha-ha and masonry restoration
  • Propagation and care of the tree collection
  • Hosting and guiding visits from diverse new audiences
  • Community-based learning and other education visits

Growing the next generation of tree custodians is vital both to Westonbirt’s future and our society in general.

Central to the Westonbirt Project will be a comprehensive training programme that provides people with training appropriate to their needs from "taster" days and leisure programmes, to work placements, continuing professional development and career skills training.

We’ll use the new Learning Hub, propagation centre and the endless ‘outdoor classroom’ of the arboretum as a unique site for lifelong learning and personal development.
