Most recently, on the 5 & 6 June, I attended the first Woody Women course, led by our own coppice worker, Ruth Goodfellow, and Jenna Higgins, a coppice worker based in Malvern. I've added a few photos to the Workshops & Walks album in the gallery to show some of what the course involved:

The two days of the Woody Women course had a great variety of activities, from chopping wood, lighting fires with woodland materials, to moving heavy logs with ropes and levers. I was very excited to be able to take home a spatula that I made from scratch at the end of the weekend too! And don't worry if you missed the course this time - there will be another on the 2 & 3 October. More info about this, and lots of other courses on the Forestry Commission website: http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/forestry.nsf/byunique/infd-738jen

It would be great to hear about other experiences of walks, workshops and courses on this forum, and all the better if you can upload a few images to give us a flavour of the event as well...
