Your Westonbirt Poems

People love to write poetry about Westonbirt. The editor of the Westonbirt Magazine regularly receives many poems inspired by the beauty of the arboretum and people’s experiences amongst the trees.
A Poetry Corner forum has been set up so you can share your poetry. Poems that link to a theme or event may even be used for news stories – happy writing!
AUTUMN
Haiku poetry competition winners
To celebrate autumn, when Japanese maples become the stars of the show, we asked you to create your own haiku-style poems inspired by the arboretum in autumn. Haiku is a short form of Japanese poetry that is intimately linked with nature, feelings and experiences – perfect for Westonbirt. This competition was judged by Rosie Bailey, local poet, performer and supporter of Westonbirt Arboretum.
Well done to the winners below and their beautiful poems. Some entries will feature in our autumn marketing campaign and around twenty of the haiku will also feature on our autumn trail, where your creativity will be enjoyed by as many as 100,000 visitors!
