Member time slot ticket FAQs

During these unprecedented times, like all organisations we have had to make some changes to the way the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum membership scheme operates. To help you with these changes, we’ve created the following FAQs for your information below:
Yes, we are delighted to advise that members and the general public are able to visit Westonbirt Arboretum by booking time slot tickets on Forestry England’s website ahead of visiting.
Your membership entitles you to book four free time slot tickets for your own children or grandchildren free of charge, age 5 years to 18 years inclusive. You will need to book their free time slot tickets when you book your own ticket. Children under 5 years do not require a time slot ticket. Any accompanying adults who do not hold a valid membership card will need to purchase a ticket.
In order to keep visitors, staff and our local community safe, Westonbirt has limited the number of people that it can welcome to the arboretum at any one time and introduced a temporary pre-booking system. This is to allow us to limit the number of people on site and stagger their arrival, so that visitors and staff can safely social distance in key areas such as the car park, toilets etc.
As a member, whilst social distancing measures are in place, you will be required to pre-book a free time slot ticket using your valid membership card number to visit Westonbirt Arboretum. You can find this number at the bottom of your membership card.
Alternatively, if you do not have internet access, you can book a time slot ticket by telephoning Forestry England on 0300 068 0400.
Yes, members will need to show a valid membership card along with their time slot ticket to staff when arriving at Westonbirt Arboretum. There will be no provision for staff to verify membership status without sighting a valid membership card upon arrival. Sadly, if you are unable to show these documents then you will be turned away.
Yes, your membership will be issued with at least 12 months validity.
We have worked with Forestry England to ensure the majority of time slots tickets are available to members as a reward for your loyalty over this time. There will be some general public tickets available which will also allow members to purchase tickets if you wish to bring a non-member with you.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, stay at home.

Unfortunately, due to social distancing measures in place onsite, you will not be able to join or renew your membership when you visit during this time. Please join and renew ahead of visiting here. Please note that it may take up to 30 days to receive your new membership cards.
For new members, we aim to process and send your membership card by post within 30 days of applying by post or online. Once you receive your membership card you can book a time slot ticket free of charge on Forestry England's website.
For members renewing memberships online, we aim to process and send your membership card by post within 30 days of applying by post or online. Once you receive your membership card you can book a time slot ticket free of charge on Forestry England's website.
Members who have misplaced their membership card should contact email@example.com to request a replacement card, which will be sent by post within 30 days. Once you receive your new membership card you may book a time slot ticket free of charge on Forestry England's website.
Unfortunately, the Membership Team will not be able to provide membership card numbers via telephone or email or facilitate booking time slot tickets on behalf of members for any reason.
Time slot tickets will be available up to seven days in advance on a rolling basis.
If you do not have your membership card and wish to visit, you are able to purchase a time slot ticket by paying the admission price however; this fee is non-refundable, regardless of your membership status.
Lost your card? Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request a replacement card, which will be sent by post within 30 days.
If you are planning a visit to one of our partner gardens we suggest, as always, that you call ahead to see if you are able to visit using your membership cards.
As an equal shareholder, your membership donation supports conservation, education and participation at Westonbirt Arboretum. Whilst the arboretum was closed to members and visitors, the team continued to work hard, ensuring that the site was cared for during these unprecedented times and your donation enabled this work to continue.
Although we are unable to offer refunds or membership extensions, we have taken the active decision to postpone our planned subscription rate increase until further notice. Therefore, annual membership subscriptions have not increased since July 2018.
Of course, we do understand that not all members will be able to continue supporting us during these times but for those that can, your support is vital to the continued conservation work we support.
