On 23 May, hundreds of runners will lace up their trainers and embark on the 10k Westonbirt Arboretum running race. The route will wind through the arboretum, showcasing its stunning tree collections, beautiful bluebells, and vibrant rhododendrons.

Among those runners are a few who have chosen to fundraise for the Friends of Westonbirt. Every penny they raise will go back into protecting and caring for the arboretum.

Meet Marc, Laura, and Rachel, who are aiming to raise £250 each for The Friends. Marc is running the event for the sixth time; Laura is using the run as a personal target to get fit, and Rachel is running to help raise the profile of the work of The Friends.

Marc is aiming for a personal best!

This is the sixth Westonbirt 10k for Marc Alexander, and he’s hoping to smash last years’ time and make this a personal best!

Rachel wants to raise awareness about The Friends

Rachel WalkerRachel said, “Having two small children, I visit Westonbirt regularly, either as a family or to meet friends. I’m really proud to support The Friends as a Trustee, and I hope I can use this run as a way to help raise awareness about the great work we do to ensure the arboretum continues to be an amazing place for people to visit.”
