Going green at the 10K

We are all looking at ways we can be greener, and the Westonbirt 10K is no different.

10K medalWe love to see you get active on-site and enjoy rewarding your efforts. All of our medals and trophies are made from FSC-certified wood and are sourced from a local supplier.

Running is thirsty work, so remember to bring your own reusable water bottle to fill up at our water stations after your race. And for any rubbish you might have, make sure to drop it into one of our recycling bins – just check the signage for what can go in before you do.

There’s nothing quite like a nice cup of tea to refuel, but did you know that takeaway cups can’t be put in the recycling bin, and even most compostable cups won’t break down in domestic composting systems? This means that these single-use products end up in the general waste bin.

Recycling and waste pointSo, across our catering outlets at Westonbirt, we offer a 30p discount when you bring your own reusable mug. Don’t have one yet? Pop into the Shop or the Pantry to discover a range of options.

Finally, if you’re thinking of coming back to Westonbirt, why not do your bit for the environment and give public transport a try? Westonbirt is conveniently located on the Stagecoach 69 bus route between Stroud and Old Sodbury, connecting to Bath. The stop is situated right by the main entrance.

Bus stopPlus, if you show a valid bus or train ticket at the admissions window, you can get a discounted day admission ticket! We’d love to see you again to give our other running routes a go.
