Tomorrow’s Trees need you to Text Today!

There is no doubt in our (only very slightly biased) minds that Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, is the definition of Autumn. The hordes of visitors that flock to the arboretum at this time of year are never disappointed by the treat that Mother Nature has in store for them.

What they tend not to be aware of though, is how much of a helping hand Mother Nature has been given by the team of dedicated staff and volunteers who help care for what is arguably the finest collection of trees in the UK.

Amid a difficult economic climate and in a world of escalating costs, the fundraising efforts by the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum take on a new level of importance. We want to ensure that our trees can be enjoyed by as many people as possible for as many years as possible. But, we need help if we are to protect our trees for the future.

This year, we have launched a brand new fundraising initiative which we hope our visitors, online community and Friends will get involved with. ‘Just Text Giving’ offers a really easy way for everybody who has enjoyed our Autumn colour to support the arboretum and help our fundraising efforts….and all you have to do is send a text message.

You might be surprised at how a small donation can really help with the costs of maintaining and protecting the arboretum:

? £1 can buy a specialist air pot to grow endangered trees in

? £3 can buy a tree guard to protect our baby trees from deer

? £5 can teach a child about the importance of trees

? £10 can mulch a champion tree to protect it for the future

Just text Tree33 followed by the amount you want to donate (£1, £3, £5 or £10) to 70070 and help tomorrow’s trees today.
