February: The Pause Before the Bloom

February is a time of stillness and anticipation, the gentle pause before nature bursts back into colour and life. Renewal is just around the corner and soon Westonbirt will showcase another spectacular season of blossoms, as vibrant and memorable as autumn.

And while spring is on its way, there’s plenty happening this month to enjoy:

Explore & Discover

  • Guided Walks: Join daily walks from the Welcome Building at 11:00 AM to uncover the winter beauty of the Old Arboretum and learn about its seasonal highlights. Learn more.

Family Fun & Special Events

  • Beautiful Bark - free half term activity: Explore the amazing variety of bark within the tree collection, try the bark challenge, make a bark clay tile and other crafts to take home.
  • Room on the Broom Trail: Continue the magical adventure with our interactive family trail, search for lost items and spell ingredients. Learn more.
  • Wild Westonbirt: Third Saturday of the month, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. A day dedicated to all things wild and wonderful. Learn more.

Get Creative with Workshops

  • Kintsugi Ceramics Repair: Friday 13 and Saturday 14 February (plus other dates), 3 hours: morning and afternoon options. Discover the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics. Learn more.

  • Nordic Walking: Every Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:00AM - 11:15AM. Learn a new way to explore the outdoors. Learn more.

  • Willow Sculpture Workshop: Saturday 28 February (plus other dates), 10:00AM - 4:00PM. Create your own beautiful willow sculpture. Learn more.
