Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum

Fundraising Officer (Trusts, Grants & Supporter Development)

Salary: £29,000–£32,000 per annum pro rata (based on a 35-hour week)

Location: Westonbirt, The National Arboretum (minimum 60% of working week on-site)

Working hours: Full time or part time (28–35 hours per week) – flexible working considered

About the Role

We’re looking for a thoughtful and collaborative Fundraising Officer to help grow income that supports the conservation, research, and engagement work of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum.

You’ll help identify and secure funding from charitable trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies, as well as contribute to developing individual and major donor giving. Working closely with colleagues across Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum and Forestry England, you’ll write compelling funding bids, maintain accurate records, and help nurture lasting relationships with our supporters.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys research and writing, values partnership working, and wants their work to make a real impact in the natural world.

About You

You’ll bring some experience in trusts and grants fundraising (or transferable skills from a related field), strong written communication, and great organisational ability. You’ll be confident handling data, managing deadlines, and collaborating across teams.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who works with care, diplomacy, and integrity — a natural relationship-builder who enjoys working in partnership to achieve shared goals.

Working with Us

As part of Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum, you’ll join a small, committed team that shares a passion for trees and nature. Together with Forestry England, we’re helping to secure the future of this world-renowned landscape and connect more people to the wonder of trees.
